WelTec or Wellington Institute of Technology is an internationally acclaimed institution of vocational education with over 100 years of history. It is an institute established and funded by the government of New Zealand. It offers more than 150 courses in different areas of study which qualify the students for certifications, diplomas, degree and graduate diploma. It has over 11,000 full time and part time students.
In 2013, there were over 520 international students who studied at WelTec. WelTech is a top quality education provider as it has received a ranking of Category One Provider from the Qualifications Authority of New Zealand. Wellington Institute of Technology along with its sister institute Whitireia are among the 25 selected organizations for Immigration by the country’s Streamlined Visa Processing Pilot. As a result, international students can take admission in New Zealand’s educational institutes faster now can also get their visa applications prioritized. All the campuses are well connected with public transportation facilities. The Petone campus is just a few minutes away from a train service. The campus also has various bus services operating in close proximity. There is parking facility also available in the Petone Campus.
