Established in 1986, the HELP university in Malaysia and happens to be one of the private universities that provide affordable education to domestic and international students. With a mission statement like ‘to help people succeed in life and to live a life of significance through education’, the HELP university has evolved to be one of the leading educations institutions in Malaysia. The university has diverse, active, multicultural environment with nearly 2000 international students and 8000 Malaysian students.
The HELP University has academic faculties such as Applied Sciences and Multimedia, Behavioural Sciences, Business, Economics and Accounting, Education, Law and Government, Foundation Studies along with the HELP Graduate School.
HELP’s wing of Behavioural Sciences is considered to be largest for any private institution in the South East Asia region. The HELP also offers graduate and post graduate level courses under social science and humanities. The university also encourages and conducts research under various faculties.
The HELP University also happens to be the pioneering institution in the world to offer the diploma in Economics of the University of London External Programme outside UK in 1986. Later on many external degrees offered by the University of London were also made available by HELP.
The HELP University has two major campuses in Damansara Heights and Sungei Besi Campus in Kuala Lumpur.
The location of the Damansara Campus is easily accessible and connected well to the city centre and other facilities. It is a modern campus with facilities such as IT, Sports, Curie Science Laboratory, Recreational areas and library etc. For students various shops, restaurants and cafes are located nearby.
The Sungei Besi Campus is known as the city campus and it is actually dedicated to HELP College of Arts and Technology (HELP CAT) at Fraser Business Park. It can be termed as the new addition to HELP University. It is a state-of–the –art campus catering to advanced vocational and professional courses. It has food stalls, cafes and restaurants in the campus area. It also has culinary kitchens, engineering labs and dance studio as a latest addition.
The HELP University offers students a residential facility in the form of HELP residence. It is a 21 storey building and has a capacity to 828 students. It comprises of 432 rooms and offers separate male and female sections. Its location is a just a few minutes away from the main campus. The building is equipped with basic and modern facilities and also offers a parking space, cafeteria and 24 hour security. The HELP University provides scholarships and funding option for International as well as domestic students.
Transport and Location
Both the campuses of the HELP University are well connected to the public mode of transports and the accommodation offered by the University. Free bus shuttle service for students is made available by the University to get to the campus and inside the campus. Students can also walk to the campus.
