1. Prepare for IELTS or Apply without IELTS
English Test is mandatory for admission to Uk Universities and Colleges, But there are some universities which may give you IELTS wavier
Acceptable test for university admissions and for immigration purposes are IELTS (General and Academic both), PTE Academic, TOEFL iBT.

5. Online Interview
Some applicants might be required to attend a visa interview, either in person or online. The UKVI will notify you if an interview is necessary.
Interview Preparation:

6. Show Sufficient funds
You must have enough money to pay for your course and support yourself in the UK.
How much money you need depends on where you will be studying.
The student is required to show 1 year of Tuition Fees mentioned in the CAS and 9 months of Living Cost.
Living Cost
Inside London – 12006 GBP (1334 GBP per month w.e.f. 1st December 2020)
Outside London –9207 GBP (1023 GBP per month w.e.f. 1st December 2020)
If the student has made a payment to the University accommodation provider, show money will be reduced by the amount shown in the CAS actually paid or max of up to 1334 GBP whichever is less. e.g.- If the student has paid 2000 GBP to the University accommodation provider, then he can show

Accepted Funds:
Education Loan Letter must be in the name of the Student / or joint with Parents.
Saving Account Statement / Passbook along with Bank Balance Certificate showing 28 days old fund in the name of the student / joint account with the parents / or only in the name of parents only from a Bank regulated by the Reserve Bank of India
Fixed Deposit (details in the next slide)
For UK Student Visa any other relatives like Grand parents , Uncle, Brother , Sister can not sponsor the student and funds in their account will not be accepted. They should transfer the funds in the student’s account
Where the Funds are not in the name of the student, Birth Certificate is required to prove the relationship. In case of a joint account, Letter of Consent from parents has to be enclosed along with the application.
7. Get CAS (confirmation of acceptance for study)
The Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is a crucial document in the process of applying for a student visa to study in the United Kingdom. It is issued by the educational institution where you have been offered a place and have accepted the offer. The CAS is a unique reference number that confirms to the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) that you have been accepted to study at that particular institution on a specific course.
CAS includes:
Issued by the Institution: The CAS is generated and provided by the educational institution that has offered you a place on a course. The institution must be a licensed Tier 4 sponsor.
Unique Reference Number: The CAS includes a unique reference number that is used by the UKVI to link your visa application to your specific course of study.
Information Included: The CAS contains details about your course, including the course title, level of study, and the start and end dates. It also includes information about the institution, your personal details, and any English language proficiency requirements.
Requirement for Visa Application: To apply for a UK student visa (Tier 4 visa), you must include the CAS reference number on your visa application form. Without a valid CAS, you cannot apply for a student visa.
Validity: The CAS is usually valid for a specific period, and you must apply for your visa within six months of receiving it.
Conditions: The CAS may also outline any conditions you must meet before starting your course, such as paying a deposit or meeting certain academic requirements.

NHS Health Surcharge
Refunds
You’ll get a full Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) refund if:
you paid twice
your visa application is refused
you withdraw your visa application
You’ll get a partial IHS refund if your Visa application is successful but:
you get less time on your visa than you asked for
any dependents on your visa application are refused
If you are due a full or partial refund for these reasons, you do not have to do anything to get it. It will be automatically paid to the account or card you paid with.
Refund
You will not get a refund if:
your visa application is successful, but you do not come to the UK
you leave the UK before your visa ends, for example to make a new application
you’re told to leave the UK before your visa expires
you’re applying for indefinite leave to remain

Frequently Asked Questions
If Applying from Outside the UK:
The earliest you can apply for a visa is 6 months before you start your course.
You’ll usually get a decision on your visa within 3 weeks.
If Applying from inside the UK:
The earliest you can apply is 3 months before your course starts.
You must apply before your current visa expires. Your new course must begin within 28 days of your current visa expiring.
You can arrive before your course starts. This can be either:
- ✅up to 1 week before, if your course lasts 6 months or less
- ✅up to 1 month before, if your course lasts more than 6 months
You must not travel to the UK before the start date given on your visa, no matter when your course starts.
You have to buy Health Insurance separately and it is known as Health care Surcharge.
Cost of Health Care Surcharge depends on how long your visa lasts
✅£776 per year for students and their dependants, for example £1,552 for a 2-year vis
✅£776 per year for visa and immigration applicants who are under the age of 18 at time of application
✅£1,035 per year for all other visa and immigration applications, for example £3,105 for a 3-year visa
It costs £490 to apply for a Student visa whether you apply from outside the UK or inside the UK
